Yes, Dave replied to me, but looks like he didn't cc the list. I met with him too, and he seems like an interesting character and I'll help out with bit of my spare time since it seems like curious project and I always enjoy doing something different. Here's a brief excerpt of what he described he has on hand:I have several webcams, many screens, several computers of varying specs with various operating systems. I have Raz Pi 2. l have several distros but i am very new to all this so learning curve is what it is. Also have all the components to build any circuit with a huge breadboard if needed. Oh and i inherited an audrino which could come in handy. There Seems Like multiple ways to do it using existing software. No need to rebuild the wheel. Video format is easily changeable. They are usually stored on a hardrive or server. Playback devices will be whatever we can make work.
My read of it is that it's a cash strapped project, but that Dave is flexible and pretty much up for whatever if the video and and screens can be made to be interactive. I dropped by his studio and there's a few misc computers, arduino, and some VGA monitors as well as parts like old VCRs. We chatted about possibly doing something fun with the old tech like hacking some VCRs to make them run by home made floor based pressure switches.
So if you're up for something a little different and laid back it might be a good idea to drop by to meet Dave and see if it's for you.

      Hi Dave,

It sounds like more than 5 hours of work. But if you have
more details it might be easier to find the right person, or
at least get some advice on what you're doing....

ie. You say you have "all the tools at the ready", it would
be helpful to know what these tools are. Do you have some kind
of existing webcam software you need connected, if so, what
type of control and options does it offer? Or are you looking
for someone to write you some machine vision software from
scratch? Is there integration with max/msp/jitter, processing,
pure data, isadora, or something else? What OS? Where are videos stored, how many monitors
and how many screens? What are the interactions? What
formats are movies/videos in, how/where are they stored,
what kinds of playback device(s) are you thinking of using?

Sorry for all the questions, but details are very helpful
          in this kind of installation.

        Alan

                Hello all,

My name is Dave Mauz. I am having an art show at the
Northern Contemporary Gallery downstairs from Hack Lab
T.O. I am looking to employ an individual for 5hrs and
possibly more that is preferable to them for some simple
programming tasks. The main component of project that I
will need assistance is to turn webcams in to triggers
that will then play video on various screens. I have all
the tools at the ready. Basically anyone who wants to
play around with a bunch of cool toys and be part of a
real cool art show and get paid and fed for their
                troubles please contact me ASAP.

Keep On Hacking In The Free World.
