Hi Hackers!
I'm fixing my sewing machine but I need this gauge to measure a few things.
It's a small tool. Can someone help me print this please? What's the
procedure? Could I swing by this evening for open day and get it done? : )
Kind regards,
Grace
(Below are notes on the piece and attached stl. file and a pdf.
I have prepared a 3D model that is true to all the dimensions provided.
That said, the results you get depends on the calibration of your 3D
printer in the X Y and Z axis. Also, when printing out the design, the
small ooze from the first layer needs to be carefully trimmed away. After
doing that, the dimensions provided by the PDF in the files section should
be compared to the print using a vernier caliper used to prepare ratios for
each axis.
Turn off the auto proprotion setting on the slicing program and enter the %
for for X, Y and Z corrordinates and print again. Recheck again and use a
small file to correct as needed. We are talking very small numbers in the
order of fractions of a mm but it is a calibration tool after all and
should be as accurate as possible.
